Physalis

Physalis from Colombia has been short since March. This may continue until January. Colombia had a very dry period this winter and early spring and had an extreme lack of water before the rains came. Now it's the rainy season with very heavy rains. The growers did not plant during the dry period as the young plants would not survive. This means that physalis will stay short until the new plants start producing. This takes approx. 8 months from planting to first harvest. The quality of the physalis has been exceptional this year.
