Mangetout & Sugar snaps season 2011

Mangetout & Sugar snaps season 2011

Overall the mangetout and sugar snaps situation is quite stable, at this moment. Guatemala is still in production. After a period of hail, rain and frost the weather has now turned for the better. In the next two weeks we expect to receive a new shipment and hope that the season will last until the end of May.

The Guatemala season will be followed by Southern Africa. At this moment the weather is bad in the production regions, which makes crop management a bit difficult. The first shipment with small volumes is expected in week 16. Bigger volumes will not arrive until week 20.

Every year, around April and May, the availability of both mangetout and sugar snaps is very limited. However we do not expect the big shortages like last year.
