Preparation
After being washed the basil can be added fresh to a dish. Add basil at the last moment, as cooking destroys the flavour.
ConsumptionBasil is commonly used fresh in recipes. It can also be used in salads, fruit jams, sauces, tea and with fruit.
When to eatFresh basil can be kept for a short time in the refrigerator, or for a longer period in the freezer.
