This because of the fact that dried fruit maintains most of its nutrition. The only nutrient that tends to be lost during the drying process is Vitamin C. All other nutrients remain preserved. Preparation

Preparation

Generally, once a fruit or vegetable is dried, there is no additional preparation necessary before consuming it. Many recipes require the fruit or vegetable be sliced or diced, which is often easier when the item has been refrigerated overnight.

Consumption

Dried fruit make an excellent snack at anytime of the day. They are also often added to baking mixes and breakfast cereals or added as a topping. Next to that, dried fruits are great for putting together gifts and fruit baskets.
