The herb is available in both fresh and dried form. Sage is one of the few herbs which actually has a more intense and concentrated flavour after drying.

Dried sage does not need any preparation. Fresh sage should be washed before adding it fresh or cooked to a dish.

Consumption

Sage is used fresh or dried in recipes. It can also be used in salads, sauces, stuffing and tea.

When to eat

Fresh sage can be kept for a short time in the refrigerator, or for a longer period in the freezer. Dried sage can be kept at room temperature.
