Enjoying fruit and vegetables that you can trust. That is our obligation from us to you. We have set up an extensive system to ensure that all our products remain fresh and clean during their voyage from far away countries to your store. This includes instructions to our growers, a track & tracing process and refrigerated transport .
At the source
Nature’s Pride works predominantly with growers that are Global G.A.P. certified. Global gap is the most accepted certification in the world to guarantee food safety.
This certification ensures that growers follow these globally accepted Good Agricultural Practice. Matters as personal hygiene, improving the efficiency of natural resource use, reducing the use of crop protection agents, temperature control, prevention of microbiological contamination and ensuring a responsible attitude towards worker health and safety are just a few things secured by this certification. It helps to insure that produce consumed by us meets EU legislation concerning residues of chemicals. When possible, our growers incorporate Integrated Pest Management. This gives the grower the option of using natural pests to fight diseases and other reasons for crop losses instead of chemicals during production.
Nature's Pride informs each grower about taste expectations in brix (sugar) or oil (avocados), in sizing, in percentage of color, in packaging before the season begins.
Track & traceability
Each carton and / or package has an identity code that makes it possible to trace the product back to the grower or growing area, the harvesting/packing location and date. If there is a problem with food safety or quality, the grower can check to see what actually happened during growing, harvesting and/or packing. This helps us to know much more about the individual product.
All uniquely coded shipments are accompanied by an electronic logger that monitors the temperature during the whole voyage.
Every shipment that arrives in our warehouse gets checked for temperature variations and any signs of decay or other quality problems. There can also be a phytosanitary control by external parties, such as the European Customs. Nature's Pride demands from each grower a list of chemicals which are proposed for pre- and post harvest treatment. From each supplier samples are taken upon arrival and sent to a QS certified laboratory for testing for residues of more than 600 chemicals. Nature’s Pride is IFS and BRC certified and herewith fulfils the strictest rules of all supermarket chains in Europe.
Storage & Distribution
Each product gets it's own specific storage temperature and humidity treatment to guarantee the best holding conditions. Nature’s Pride is able to organize transport to your facilities under required conditions. Nature's Pride is certified according to the global standards of IFS Logistics and BRC Storage & Distribuition.
