Nature's Cross contributes to improve education in north Morocco

Saturday, September 8, more than 400 enthusiastic participants took part in Nature's Cross 2018. On this sporting afternoon there was a lot of walking and running in the forestry surroundings of Westland and The Hague. As a result, the unbelievable amount of € 116.250 was collected. With this amount we can contribute to education in Northern Morocco and other social projects of the Nature's Pride Foundation.

The afternoon started with the TrekkerTrek (Truck and Tractor pulling) demonstration by the strongest man from Westland, who managed to move the Nature's Pride truck, from where it was standing. Then there was a competition by various groups that tried to do the same; a good warming up for the many kilometers that followed. There was a group of walkers that walked 10 km through the green landscape and several 3 km laps were run at the Big Cross. For the little ones there was also plenty of fun with the Kids Cross, catapult shooting and a survival course. A fun and sporting afternoon, which also resulted in a large amount for a good cause.

We contribute this amazing amount to improve education in Northern Morocco. A big amount of our berries comes from there. Our grower Fresh Royal has been working for years to improve education in the surrounding communities. With the money raised, we will help them to expand the program at 7 public schools. This project will reach more than 4,000 children. They will all benefit from this project throughout their lives.

  • Stronger fruit and higher income go hand in hand

In the Ivory Coast fruit flies are a big problem for mango growers. Fruit fly attacks the fruit, causing a large part of the harvest to be lost. Since last year, we and our grower, Ivoire Agreage, have been working together on a sustainable control of fruit fly and better soil conditions.
