Blueberries are dark blue to purple-black in colour. Every berry has semi-transparent flesh with very small, soft edible seeds. EAT ME Blueberries have a crispy 'bite' and they are sweet and juicy.

Storage advice

Blueberries are kept refrigerated in storage and during transport. The ideal temperature during transport is between 2 and 4 degrees Celsius. At home the blueberries need to be kept in the fridge.

Growing and harvesting

The blueberry plant is part of the heather family. It is a fruit bearing
shrub that grows to a height of 1.5 - 2.5 metres. After planting it
takes approximately two to three years until the first harvest. In Peru
harvesting is possible after only one year, due to the location and
climate. Blueberries grow in clusters that are carefully harvested by
hand. Next, they are sorted for quality and size, weighed, packaged
and cooled. The amount that can be harvested from a single
plant depends on the plant's age, variety, pruning and the climate.
Blueberry shrubs can deliver produce for dozens of years, but yield
the most fruit between their 7th and 10th years.
