Kailan

Kailan is related to the broccoli and as such is also called Chinese broccoli. Kailan has, just like broccoli, thick green stems and a flower. However the sweet flower from kalian is much smaller than that of the ordinary broccoli. The large shiny leaves of the kalian are sweet and a little bitter.

Storage advice

Kailan is kept refrigerated in storage and during transport. The ideal temperature during transport is 6 degrees Celsius. In stores kalian is displayed in an open refrigerator unit. At home kailan needs to be kept in the fridge.
