The yuzu is a citrus fruit. The fruit has the size and shape of a golf ball and looks a bit like a mandarin with bumpy and loose skin. This greenish-yellow to yellow skin is highly valued because of its special essential oils and is usually grated and added to recipes. Yuzu has a lovely scent that is comparable to a combination of lime, lemon, mandarin and grapefruit. Just like other citrus fruit the juicy flesh can contain a few inedible seeds.
