During a festive award ceremony in Amsterdam, Nature's Pride - the company behind the EAT ME brand -, was pleasantly surprised with this place in the category of consumer goods. Well-known brands such as Coca Cola, Heineken, and Calve and Redbull were left in their wake. Nature's Pride acknowledges this achievement as an appreciation and a sign that the EAT ME brand has developed into an inspiring and recognized quality label for fresh exotic fruits and vegetables. "We are proud of this second place and would like to thank all the EAT ME fans who voted. Our products come from all over the world and through the website we want to convey the love the growers have for their exotic produce to consumers in Europe. To allow every consumer to enjoy these colourful and tasty fruits and vegetables, we use the website to inform and inspire how our products can be prepared and eaten. We do this because of our passion for exotic fruit and vegetables and we will continue to develop the website for visitors to discover the endless possibilities of our products.", according to Michelle Tanis, Online Marketing at Nature's Pride.

The Website of the Year election is the largest online public award which is organized annually by magazine Emerce and research company MetrixLab. The awards include the best and most popular websites in various categories in the Netherlands. From the 26th of September until the 5th of November the Dutch public was able to judge their favourite website on content, navigation, design and their intention to recommend. The overall winner was and is the website of the year.
