Peppermint

An unique aroma

Peppermint - Product photo

Peppermint is another herb that has found its way into kitchens from medicinal applications – it has been used in Japan for centuries. There is no mistaking the fresh, aromatic scent of fresh peppermint. 'Peppermint' sweets owe their fame to it. The mint oil inside gives this herb its distinctive character.

Fresh peppermint is especially popular for making tea. The mild, slightly sweet taste also combines well with many recipes that use fruit and vegetables. The stems of the crop are sturdy, the leaves oval-shaped. Light purple flowers appear in summer.

Recipes & preparation tips

Those who only use peppermint in tea are not making the best of its full potential. Just like other mint varieties, a few fresh leaves have added value in, for example, a stew. Fresh peppermint adds a fresh touch to fruit salads, torn or chopped into pieces. Rinse briefly before use.
