Proud of our sustainability results!

Sustainability Report 2024

We care about people and nature. Since our foundation almost 25 years ago, we have been convinced that enjoying the tastiest fruit and vegetables today can contribute to a better world tomorrow. That is why we passionately work every day to make the entire chain more efficient, fairer and more sustainable. Like every year, we collected the results of our sustainable activities in our Sustainability Report.

  • Improve welfare of people in our growing areas: In 2006, we developed our own international social standards, as they did not exist at that time. By now (December 2024), 98.4% of our total product volume is socially certified; this will be 100% by 31 December 2025. We also focus on WASH: access to water, sanitation and hygiene for people in our growing regions.

  • Promoting responsible water management: working on and promoting responsible water management is one of our priorities. 77% of our total product volume from high water risk countries is certified. But audits alone are not enough. Therefore, we are also working in addition on collective action for responsible water use in our key growing regions of Peru, Chile and Spain.

  •  Protect and restore biodiversity: Two of our South African growers passed the new GLOBALG.A.P. BioDiversity add-on, making us the first to implement the add-on outside Europe.

  • Climate action: In 2018, we were the first in our industry to have our scope 1 and 2 targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Since 99% of our emissions occur elsewhere in the chain, we also calculated chain-wide reduction targets in 2024 and, again as the first in our sector, had them validated by SBTi.

Working together with our partners, including our growers and customers, is essential to achieve our goals. So we are extremely grateful to them for working together!
