Mini beetroot

Beats its larger counterpart on taste

Mini beet - Product picture

The smaller version of the well-known beetroot has its own place on the menu: especially in recipes in which flavour is key. Mini beetroot offer a lovely sweet mouthfeel. The small tubers have a more tender and finer texture than their larger counterpart.

Bulbous to oval-shaped beetroots are available in various colours. You can order dark red mini beetroots from Nature's Pride (with typical pink and white rings) or decorative yellow ones. Do not forget to include the leaves at the stem roots in your preparation. These are also edible and are reminiscent of spinach leaves.

Recipes & preparation tips

The mini beetroot is the centrepiece of unexpected recipes in the kitchen. Middle Eastern, for example, in rainbow couscous. Or colourful, as a crudité. Mini beetroots can even feature in haute cuisine, together with scallops and mini fennel. Preparation is a doddle: rinse and process in their entirety. The leaves at the stem base can also be used as an alternative to spinach.
