Coriander is kept refrigerated in storage and during transport. The ideal temperature during transport is 2 degrees Celsius. At home the coriander needs to be kept in the fridge.

Growing and harvesting

Growing coriander begins by sowing coriander seed. Coriander grow by giving them the right nutrients (water), heat and plenty of sunlight. It usually takes 3 to 6 weeks before a seed has grown into a plant, but it may take three months. The herbs are harvested with machetes once the product has the correct length. Subsequently, the herbs are placed in plastic crates and transported to the packaging area. Here, the herbs are cooled back down. After re-cooling the product quality is assessed and the chives are graded by length. The herbs are then bunched according to the customer's requirement, in bunches of 10 grams, for example. Finally, the bunches are packed in boxes, chilled and transported to Nature's Pride.
