Galanga is a lumpy looking root. The tough skin is white yellow to light pink. Once peeled the root has a woody structure with a spicy peppery citrus flavour. Galanga has a lovely spicy aroma and has a bitter, tangy, spicy taste.

Storage advice

Galangas are kept refrigerated in storage and during transport. The ideal temperature during transport is between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius. At home the galangas need to be kept in the fridge.
