Parsley

A herb full of vitamins and minerals

Fresh, slightly spicy and above all very healthy: parsley is one of the classic herbs in the kitchen. No soup, sauce or pasta without parsley, whose full flavour with a hint of pepper is always recognisable. What many don't know is that this fresh herb is packed with vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin K, which assists the body in absorbing calcium.

This bright green herb comes in several varieties. Flat-leaf parsley and curly parsley are directly related. At Nature's Pride, you can order flat-leaf parsley, which has light indentations.

Recipes & preparation tips

Fresh parsley is best known as a tasty addition to soups, sauces and pastas. A few shredded leaves of flat-leaf parsley highlight the freshness of a spicy butternut squash soup, one of the recipes on the EAT ME website that uses this fresh herb. Another classic from grandma's kitchen is vegetable soup with parsley. Parsley is also often used as a garnish. Rinse before use in plenty of water, pat dry with kitchen paper and chop the parsley coarsely or finely.
