Mini shiitake

A small mushroom with stir-fry talent

Mini Shiitake - Product photo

The mini shiitake is a mushroom that can often be found in soups and stir-fries. The smaller version of the shiitake easily retains its shape during preparation thanks to its firm structure. The stem is thin, the brown cap flat and round. This mushroom originates from Japan, where it is much loved for its strong aromatic scent and savoury taste.

Recipes & preparation tips

Stir-frying is often the shiitake's final destination in the kitchen. They also add lots of flavour to soups, while adding an oriental touch. And why not try the small mushroom as an addition to mashed potatoes? Cleaning is a doddle: use a piece of damp kitchen paper or a small brush.
