Nam Dok Mai - ThailandThailand

Growing & harvesting

The Nam Dok Mai mango is grown in the Udorn Thani area on a field of 320 hectares. The sandy ground is ideal for the mango trees. The Nam Dok Mai mango trees can live up to 20 years. Harvest can start in the 4th year, 90-100 days after flowering. The fruits are harvest at a maturity level of 70-80%. The skin of the Nr. 4 variety starts green and turns yellow during the ripening process. However, the skin of the Golden variety starts yellow and turns golden-yellow when it ripens. Due to the high maturity level and the thin skin of the fruit, the Nam Dok Mai mango is vulnerable. Therefore, each mango is packed individually and transported by plane to Nature's Pride.
